NYUNGNE RETREAT

The retreat will begin Friday, August 23rd, starting at 7:00 PM with a Dharma teaching by Lama Dudjom Dorjee Rinpoche. On Saturday, August 24th retreatants will take the Sojong vows, and begin the practice at 6:00 AM, breaking for a meal at noon. Lama Rinpoche has said that retreatants may choose to participate at either the Nyungne level (with food and drink on Saturday, but none on Sunday) or Nye Ne level (with food and drink Saturday and Sunday). The Retreat will end on Monday, August 26th, with breakfast.

The Retreat will be held at an Airbnb home in Grand Prairie, TX–south of IH 20 and north of Joe Pool Lake. We’ll send the address after you register. Retreat doors will open at 3:00 PM on Friday. Participants are highly encouraged to attend Rinpoche’s dharma teaching on Friday night at 7:00 PM. The Retreat ends early Monday morning and is followed by breakfast before taking down the shrine and departing.

We are offering “early-bird” registration up to August 12th. The cost of the retreat for TMC Members is $200, and $250 for those staying at the Airbnb; for non-members, cost will be $275 and $325 for those staying at the Airbnb. For registration after August 12th, please add $50 to each of the above amounts. Registration will close on August 16th, so please ensure your place by registering as soon as possible.

Once you who have signed up for the Retreat, you will receive an email with additional details relating to specific texts needed, and a digital folder of helpful materials. This is an IN PERSON ONLY RETREAT, no virtual attendance will be offered. Please bring a meditation cushion and a zabuton if you have them.

You can participate in the merit generated by the Retreat by helping to serve retreatants lunch on Saturday or Sunday (for Nye Ne retreatants), breakfast on Monday, or by making a donation to support the Retreat.
