SUMMARY:LIFE RELEASE CEREMONY
DESCRIPTION:LIFE RELEASE CEREMONY \nUnder the guidance of Lama Rinpoche\, TMC will be conducting a life release ceremony for fish in Lake Lewisville\, in Hickory Creek\, Texas\, on July 18th at 11:00 AM. At 12 PM we will have a potluck lunch! \nWe will be meeting at Westlake Park. Here is a map link to the specific parking lot area: Meeting Location Linked Here. \nThe entrance to the Park is at 2000 Main Street\, Hickory Creek\, TX 75065. The Park is easily accessed from I 35E. signage indicates a $4 fee for entrance to the Park\, although there was no clear method for payment\, nor anyone in attendance to receive it\, during a recent Park visit. \nThe link to the text that will be used for the Life Release Ceremony is here: Link to Life Release Text \nThe event will be available for online participants on Zoom. \nWe plan to release at least 1\,000 fish (Pimephales promelas). We need about $250 dollars to do this\, but of course\, the more we receive in contributions\, the more fish we can save! They cost $18 a pound\, and there are about a dozen a pound. \nAt last years life release ceremony\, Rinpoche said that saving one life is more important than building a stupa\, and is therefore one of the most beneficial things we can do to benefit ourselves and others! \nJuly 18th is also Chökhor Düchen\, which celebrates the day that Buddha Shakyamuni first taught the Four Noble Truths at the Deer Park in Sarnath\, near Varanasi. DESCRIPTION:This is a half-day Retreat (with a break from 10:15 to 11:00 am). We are so close to achieving our collective goal of 108\,000 recitations of the Liberation Nirvana Sutra Mantra. Let’s please come together this Saturday on Zoom and dedicate time to the recitation of the mantra as a Losar offering for Lama Rinpoche.  \nWe will begin with Opening Prayers after which the Umdze will begin chanting the mantra. DESCRIPTION:We offer Chenrezig sadhana/practice to deepen our connection to the Chenrezig. \nPlease note:  Refuge is a prerequisite & this sadhana should be practiced only by people who have received the appropriate empowerment\, transmission\, and instruction from a qualified guru. \nLhabab Düchen\, one of the Four Main Holy Days of the Buddhist Year\, celebrates Buddha Shakyamuni’s descent from the Tushita Heaven (second in the six heavens of the desire realm in Buddhist cosmology). Several years after his enlightenment\, the Buddha temporarily ascended there to give teachings to benefit the gods in that realm\, and to repay the kindness of his mother\, Mayadevi\, who died a week after his birth and had been reborn there. \nAfter he had been in the Tushita Heaven for three months\, his disciple Maudgalyayana persuaded the Buddha to return to Earth. One week after the full moon\, the Buddha descended to Earth by a special triple ladder of lapis lazuli and crystal\, prepared by Viswakarma\, the Hindu-Buddhist god of machines.  \nThe name of this festive holiday is translated as Lha = gods\, Bab = descent\, and Düchen = great occasion. On Lhabab Düchen\, the effects of all actions\, positive or negative\, are multiplied ten million times.
